Composition

Uses / Indications

Ramipres 2.5mg Capsule is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – lowers and controls blood pressure.

• Heart Failure – improves symptoms and survival rates.

• Post-Myocardial Infarction (after heart attack) – reduces risk of recurrence and complications.

• Long-term prevention of stroke, kidney problems, and cardiovascular complications in high-risk patients (diabetes, CKD, CAD).

Mechanism of Action

• Ramipril is an ACE Inhibitor (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor).

• Prevents conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II → avoids narrowing of blood vessels.

• Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves circulation, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 2.5–10 mg daily.

• 2.5 mg once daily is typically the starting dose.

• Dose may be increased gradually depending on patient response.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Take at the same time every day.

• Do not discontinue without medical advice.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Dizziness, headache
