Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Losartan Potassium 25 mg

Uses / Indications

Repace 25mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – starting/low dose for patients.

• Heart Failure – improves symptoms and reduces risk of hospitalization.

• Diabetic Nephropathy – protects kidneys in patients with Type 2 Diabetes and high BP.

• Reduces the risk of stroke and cardiovascular complications in high-risk patients.

Mechanism of Action

• Losartan is an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB).

• It blocks angiotensin II → prevents blood vessel constriction.

• Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves blood flow, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 25–50 mg once daily.

• Can be increased up to 100 mg once daily (single or divided dose) if needed.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Should be taken at the same time daily.

• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Dizziness, headache

• Fatigue, weakness

• Low blood pressure

• Stomach upset

Serious but rare:

• High potassium levels (hyperkalemia)
