• Losartan Potassium 50 mg

Uses / Indications

Repace 50mg Tablet is prescribed for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – widely used as the standard dose.

• Heart Failure – helps improve survival and reduce hospital admissions.

• Diabetic Nephropathy – protects kidney function in patients with Type 2 Diabetes and high BP.

• Prevention of stroke and cardiovascular complications in high-risk patients.

Mechanism of Action

• Losartan belongs to Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs).

• It blocks angiotensin II → prevents narrowing of blood vessels.

• Relaxes and widens arteries → lowers blood pressure.

• Improves blood circulation, reduces strain on the heart, and protects kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 50 mg once daily.

• Can be increased to 100 mg daily depending on patient’s response.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Take at the same time every day.

• Do not stop suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Side Effects
