Description

Roxid 300 Tablet contains Roxithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic.
It works by blocking bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth.
The 300 mg strength is often prescribed for moderate to severe infections where higher antibiotic coverage is required.

Uses / Indications

• Respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)

• ENT infections (sinusitis, otitis media)

• Skin & soft tissue infections (cellulitis, abscess, boils)

• Urinary tract infections (UTI)

• Dental infections

Dosage (General Guidance)

(As prescribed by physician)

• Adults: 300 mg once daily OR 150 mg twice daily

• Children: Dose adjusted as per body weight (syrup is preferred in children)

• Duration: Usually 5–10 days depending on infection

Route: Oral
Advice: Best taken before meals for maximum absorption

Side Effects

• Nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort

• Diarrhea, loose stools

• Rash, itching (allergic reaction)

• Headache, dizziness

• Rare: Liver enzyme elevation, irregular heartbeat
