Description

Roxid Dry Syrup contains Roxithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic specially formulated for children.
It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth and treating bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ENT, skin, and urinary system.

Uses / Indications

• Respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)

• ENT infections (otitis media, sinusitis)

• Skin & soft tissue infections

• Urinary tract infections (UTI)

• Dental infections in children

Dosage (General Guidance)

(To be used only under pediatrician’s advice)

• Children (>6 months): Dose based on body weight (commonly 5–8 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses)

• Duration: Usually 5–10 days depending on severity

Reconstitution & Use:

• Add boiled & cooled water up to the mark on bottle, shake well

• Shake before each use

• Use measuring cup/syringe for accurate dosing

• Best given before meals for proper absorption

Side Effects

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

• Stomach pain, indigestion

• Rash, itching (allergy)

• Rare: Liver enzyme changes, irregular heartbeat

Precautions / Warnings

• Not effective for viral infections (cold, flu)

• Avoid if child is allergic to macrolides

• Use cautiously in liver disorders

• Complete full prescribed course to prevent bacterial resistance

• Warfarin (↑ bleeding risk)

• Digoxin (↑ toxicity risk)
