Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg

Uses / Indications

Stamlo 5mg Tablet is used for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – helps maintain normal blood pressure.

• Angina Pectoris (chest pain due to restricted blood flow).

• Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).

• Preventing long-term complications like heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.

Mechanism of Action

• Amlodipine belongs to the class of Calcium Channel Blockers (CCBs).

• Relaxes the smooth muscles of blood vessels.

• Widens arteries → reduces blood pressure.

• Improves oxygen supply to heart muscles → prevents angina attacks.

• Reduces heart’s workload.

Dosage & Administration

• Usual adult dose: 5 mg once daily.

• May be increased to 10 mg daily if needed (only under doctor’s supervision).

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Should be taken at the same time daily.

• Do not stop abruptly without consulting a doctor.

Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Swelling of ankles/feet (edema)

• Headache, dizziness, flushing

Precautions & Warnings
