Description:

Tenepla-M 20/500 Tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine used to manage Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and single therapy are insufficient to control blood sugar.

• Teneligliptin (DPP-4 inhibitor) works by increasing incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin secretion (only when blood sugar is high) and suppress glucagon release, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.

• Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves the body’s insulin sensitivity.

Together, they provide effective control of fasting and post-meal blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of long-term diabetes complications.

Uses:

• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

• Helps lower fasting and postprandial glucose

• Reduces the risk of diabetes-related complications (kidney disease, nerve damage, heart disease, and eye problems)

Mechanism of Action:

• Teneligliptin (20 mg): Inhibits DPP-4 enzyme → prolongs incretin activity → increases insulin release & decreases glucagon → lowers blood sugar

• Metformin (500 mg): Reduces liver glucose output, slows intestinal glucose absorption, enhances insulin sensitivity

Dosage & Administration:
