Description

Zifi-CV 200 Tablet is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination of Cefixime + Clavulanic Acid.

  • Cefixime kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis.

  • Clavulanic Acid prevents bacterial resistance by blocking beta-lactamase enzymes.

This makes the combination more effective against resistant bacterial infections.


Uses / Indications

  • Respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)

  • ENT infections (sinusitis, otitis media)

  • Urinary tract infections (UTI)

  • Typhoid fever (Salmonella infections)

  • Skin & soft tissue infections

  • Infections caused by beta-lactamase producing bacteria


Dosage (General Guidance)

(As directed by physician)

  • Adults: 1 tablet twice daily (depending on infection severity)

  • Children (>12 yrs): Dose adjusted as per weight; younger children given syrup forms

  • Duration: Typically 5–14 days

Route: Oral
Advice: Take after meals to reduce stomach irritation and improve absorption


Side Effects

  • Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain

  • Loose stools due to gut flora changes

  • Rash, itching (allergy)

  • Rare: Severe allergy, liver enzyme elevation, blood count changes


Precautions / Warnings

  • Not effective in viral infections (cold, flu)

  • Avoid in patients allergic to penicillin or cephalosporins

  • Caution in liver/kidney impairment
