Uses / Indications
Betaloc 50mg Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Mechanism of Action
-
Metoprolol is a Beta-1 Selective Blocker.
-
Slows down heart rate and reduces the force of contraction → decreases heart’s oxygen demand.
-
Lowers blood pressure by reducing cardiac output.
-
Improves blood circulation, reduces angina episodes, and stabilizes heart rhythm.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 50–200 mg daily (divided doses).
-
50 mg once or twice daily is a common maintenance dose.
-
Should be taken with food (to enhance absorption).
-
Swallow whole with water.
-
Do not stop suddenly – may cause rebound hypertension, angina, or arrhythmia.
