Uses / Indications
Candiforce 100 Capsule is prescribed for treatment of superficial & systemic fungal infections, including:

Dermatophytosis (ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch)

Onychomycosis (fungal nail infections)
-
Pityriasis versicolor (skin fungal discoloration)
-
Candidiasis (oral, esophageal, vaginal, systemic)
-
Aspergillosis, Histoplasmosis, Blastomycosis (deep fungal infections)

Fungal keratitis (eye infection, if advised by specialist)
Mechanism of Action

Itraconazole (Triazole antifungal):
-
Inhibits synthesis of ergosterol (essential for fungal cell membrane)

Weakens fungal wall → inhibits growth & kills fungus

Effective against a wide range of yeasts, dermatophytes & molds
Dosage & Administration

Adults:

Skin infections: 100 mg once or twice daily, depending on severity

Nail infections (onychomycosis): 200 mg daily for 12 weeks, or pulse therapy (100 mg twice daily for 1 week per month × 3–4 months)

To be taken immediately after a full meal for better absorption

Side Effects

Common: nausea, stomach upset, headache, dizziness

Rare: rash, swelling, liver enzyme elevation, irregular heartbeat
