Composition
Each tablet contains:

Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg (Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker – ARB)

Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg (Thiazide Diuretic – water pill)
Uses / Indications
Olmat-H 20/12.5 Tablet is prescribed for:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) – when BP is not controlled by single medicine.

Reducing long-term risk of stroke, heart attack, and kidney complications.

Useful in patients with fluid retention (edema) due to its diuretic action.
Mechanism of Action
-
Olmesartan (ARB): Blocks angiotensin II → relaxes and widens blood vessels → lowers BP.

Hydrochlorothiazide (Diuretic): Increases urine output → removes excess salt & water → reduces BP.

Together they provide synergistic blood pressure control.
Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 1 tablet once daily.

Take at the same time each day.

Can be taken with or without food.

Do not stop without consulting a doctor.

Dizziness, headache

Serious but rare:

Very low blood pressure

High potassium (from Olmesartan) or low potassium (from HCTZ)

Electrolyte imbalance (low sodium, high/low potassium)
