Uses / Indications
Tenepride M Tablet is used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, particularly when:

Diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate blood sugar control

Monotherapy with metformin or teneligliptin is insufficient

As part of combination therapy with other antidiabetic agents (if prescribed)
Mechanism of Action

Metformin (Biguanide):
-
Decreases glucose production in the liver
-
Reduces intestinal absorption of glucose
-
Improves insulin sensitivity and peripheral glucose uptake

Teneligliptin (DPP-4 inhibitor):
-
Inhibits DPP-4 enzyme, prolonging action of incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP)

Increases insulin secretion & decreases glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner

Combined Effect: Provides effective control of both fasting and postprandial blood sugar levels
Dosage & Administration

Usual Adult Dose: 1 tablet once daily (or as prescribed by physician)

To be taken with meals to minimize gastric side effects

Swallow whole with water – do not crush or chew

Dose adjustments may be needed depending on blood glucose monitoring, kidney function, and other medications
Side Effects

Common: nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, headache, mild hypoglycemia (especially if combined with other agents)

Rare: skin rash, dizziness, taste disturbances

Serious (rare):

Lactic acidosis (risk with metformin, especially in kidney impairment, alcohol use, or heart failure)
